Instructions for FAI Garda Vetting Application

Part A: Pre-Application Requirements

Prior to beginning the online application, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Consult the official FAI Online Garda Vetting Guide here.
  2. Download and manually fill out the required validation form from here.
  3. Have the completed form, along with a valid passport and a recent proof of address, verified by the designated club official (Kerry Sinnott - Child Welfare Officer).

Part B: Online Submission Process

  1. Navigate to the FAI Connect platform at https://faiconnect.ie/mycomet/private/seminars.
  2. Log in to your existing MyComet account or register for a new account.
  3. From your account's welcome page, search for and access the "Online Garda Vetting Application."
  4. Initiate the application by selecting "Garda Vetting Applications Leinster (except Dublin) 2025 " and clicking "APPLY HERE."
  5. Complete the electronic form, ensuring you upload the following documents:
    • A valid form of photo identification (e.g., Passport or Driver's License).
    • The completed and validated Garda Vetting ID Validation Form.
    • Proof of Address issued within the past six months.

Part C: Application Review & Completion

  1. After submitting your application, the FAI will forward your information to the National Vetting Bureau's e-vetting system. This transfer may take up to three weeks.
  2. The National Vetting Bureau will then email you an invitation to finalize your application. This link has a 30-day expiration.
  3. Upon completing the final steps via the provided link, you will be issued a tracking number for your application.
  4. Please be aware that if there are any discrepancies in your submitted information or documents, you will be notified and will be required to resubmit your application from the beginning.
  5. Once the vetting checks are finalised, the disclosure will be securely returned to the FAI.
